Webinars
Restorative Justice and Policy
Date: November 20, 2023, 3:00-4:30pm ET
Panelists: Thalia González, Tristen Edwards, Dr. Shannon Sliva, Erica Washington, Rep. Sandra Feist
Overview: This webinar focuses on restorative justice legislation and the key components for establishing legal frameworks that support the implementation, expansion, and sustainability of restorative justice in the criminal legal context. By providing legal recognition, standards, protections, resources, and accountability mechanisms, legislation is critical in advancing restorative justice principles and promoting equity, healing, and accountability within communities across the country.
Highlight: 2024 Restorative Justice: A Regional Lens Webinar Series
The primary 2024 NCORJ webinar series highlighted restorative justice work in different geographic regions across the United States. We invited attendees to listen and learn about different implementation models from restorative justice practitioners, researchers, community-based organizations, and system actors. Panelists introduced their regional programs and offer insight and strategies for successful restorative justice program implementation. Attendees were also introduced to the map of restorative justice programs (a collaboration between the NCORJ and the National Association of Community and Restorative Justice), a resource for identifying local restorative justice providers across the United States.
The Restorative Lens Podcast Series 3
This series of the Restorative Lens Podcast features conversations with experts across different areas of academic study to highlight the potential and importance of teaching restorative justice across disciplines.
New episodes of The Restorative Lens podcast will be released throughout the month of November 2024. Follow the podcast HERE to get caught up on past episodes and to be notified when the new episodes are released!
2024 Research Agenda
The NCORJ will highlight a report for a community-driven, emergent research agenda. The report will summarize key findings and lessons learned from a series of activities aimed at better understanding the current state of restorative justice research, its relationship with practice, and opportunities for future directions. Check back here to read the report once it’s released!
Map of Restorative Justice Programs
National Association of Community and Restorative Justice (NACRJ), in collaboration with National Center on Restorative Justice (NCORJ), hosts this map of organizations, education institutions, and other entities across the United States that offer restorative justice services and resources. This project is an extension of previous work conducted in recent decades by several groups who were interested in creating a directory and map to identify and connect restorative justice practitioners and entities across the country.
This map is not intended to be an endorsement by NACRJ or its collaborative partners for any particular organization or entity. Rather, the map is intended to serve as a resource and directory to support professionals, community members, researchers, and others interested in restorative justice in drawing connections to others pursuing this work.
