As part of the pretrial diversion program, the district attorney may establish a restorative justice initiative program within the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit in Etowah County. The guidelines and mechanisms for such an initiative shall be promulgated by the Alabama Office of Prosecution Services. Any additional fees for participation in a restorative justice initiative program by an offender shall be set by the district attorney and a portion thereof may be paid to any agency or entity that provides services to further the goals and purpose of the restorative justice initiative program.
