12.06.010 Purpose.
In a non-emergent situation, MFCS may propose and initiate, with the aid of a neutral facilitator provided by the Tribe, a Family Meeting with the child’s parent, guardian or other custodian, and any other interested person if all parties consent, including persons with a right to intervene in dependency proceedings under this title, in order to discuss alternatives to the filing of a Petition for Preliminary Inquiry, and to create a Safety Plan. Alternatively, a Safety Plan may be entered into between MCFS and the child’s parent, guardian or other custodian during the course of a child welfare investigation.
12.06.020 Court Recommendation.
At a Preliminary Inquiry, the Court may recommend that the child, his/her parent, guardian, or other custodian, if any, as well as other interested persons attend a Family Meeting to create a Safety Plan, if the Court finds that such a conference may help to resolve matters prior to a Fact-finding Hearing.
